The American Health Care Act, referred to by the acronym AHCA and nicknamed Trumpcare, was passed by the House of Representatives on May 4, 2017 as a plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) through the Fiscal Year 2017 budget reconciliation process. Employee benefits attorney, Mary Bauman, will cover and help explain the AHCA. Mary is well known for taking a complex topic and explaining it in no nonsense terms. Among other things, we’ll explain the requirement for high-deductible health plan coverage, eligibility requirements for employees who want to contribute to an HSA, the limitations on HSA contributions, and the advantages of offering HSA contributions through a cafeteria plan.
