The IRS Affordable Care Act (ACA) Enforcement Office is actively sending IRS Letters 5699 to non-filers asking for more information regarding why they failed or chose not to file. Applicable large employers (ALE) are employers who employed at least 50 full-time equivalent employees in the previous calendar year. If you are one of these employers, you are required to furnish Form 1095-C to employees by March 4, 2024 as well as file Form 1094-C with the IRS by February 28, 2024 if you are mailing the forms or April 1, 2024 if you are electronically filing.
