The BASIC story

Back in the 80s,  when Madonna was just a material girl, two men brought their different backgrounds together for a business venture. While Mike worked  busily behind the scenes, Fritz was the front man, selling and servicing everyday.  At that time, neither could foresee what BASIC would become.

Then in the 90s, while everyone said goodbye to Johnny Carson and the gang at Cheers, BASIC consisted of four employees working in a cubicle no bigger than a pop up camper. The core business was self administered flex software and premium only flex plans. The turning point came when one of our customers asked us to administer their flex plan for them. Once the word got out that BASIC also adminstered flex plans, we were positioned to move into our own building. It was often referred to as the Bird House around town as the previous owners raised and sold birds in it. Our Flex department grew so rapidly that the attached garage had to be converted to office space to house everyone!

The new millennium brought exponential growth to BASIC. We  added services, built a new office and increased our team significantly. Though our methods have changed, principles never do. Therefore, we are committed to the Golden Rule. In short, we care. We care about our customers, the agents we work with, the industry, our community, our employees and their families.
